To stand by my soft lacy-draped kitchen window holding a sea-salted rice cake slathered with peanut butter and topped with see-through slices of a ruby gala I indulge in guiltlessly because it’s all in the name of good protein, don’t you know, to peek down at the children in the playground and listen in on their contagious bursts of joy, to feel the warmth of the sun on my face and the cool of an autumn breeze on my neck all in one breath, it’s all just right.
